Dear Church Family and Friends,
I do trust that most of you were safe from the storms this past Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service confirmed that an F-1 tornado came right by the church. Thankfully there was very little damage but many of our neighbors were not so fortunate.
If you are able and willing, the deacons are hosting a work and service day at the church on Saturday, May 11, from 9 am to noon. They will begin at the church by blowing off debris from the sidewalks and then proceed to see if we can serve any of our neighbors with clean-up efforts. Please wear proper safety attire and bring blowers and such to clean up the campus.
Thankfully there have been no reported injuries or fatalities in our area. Praise the Lord! Storms like these are a reminder to us, that God is our refuge and strength! We will be reminded of this truth again this Sunday as we gather for worship under the refuge and protection of the Lord our God.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:1–7 ESV)
See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson
