Newsletter October 9, 2026
Dear Cornerstone Family,
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16
One of Cornerstone's values is discipleship and one of the ways we pursue that value is the teaching of God's Word in several different venues. In doing so, we find ourselves in several different parts of the Scriptures, learning from the whole counsel of God. Currently, we are preaching through the Gospel of Matthew and are in the midst of Jesus' Kingdom parables.
Adults and students have been studying the books of Ezra and Nehemiah recently in Sunday School and we conclude that study on Sunday. We will continue in the same Biblical time period as we study Esther until the end of the year. Children are learning the Ten Commandments during Sunday School, which is also what middle and high school students are doing at youth group.
At Foundations, adults are in a study on God's Big Picture, learning how the whole Bible connects together and points to Christ. Our children are studying the catechism and learning the theology of the Bible. Our ladies Bible studies are in the book of Joshua. Throughout the week, several men are in discipleship groups studying a book on humility that is full of Scripture study.
Over the years in all these venues, we've had the blessing of hearing God's Word faithfully taught and proclaimed, discussing His Word and applying it together, with the help of His Spirit. We have seen 2 Timothy 3:16 firsthand, that it is ALL Scripture that is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
If you are not already plugged in to a Sunday School class or Foundations on Wednesday night, we would love to have you join us! Foundations is resuming this week on October 14th after being off for the fall break. There is a meal at 5:30 PM in the Family Life Center, and then discipleship for all ages from 6:15 to 7:15 PM in the main building. Sunday School begins with a time of fellowship as soon as the first service ends at 9:45 AM and lasts until 10:45 AM. If you have questions about which class to visit, please contact me. We would love to help you get connected to these opportunities. See you Sunday!
