Newsletter September 26, 2025

Dear Church Family and Friends,

As many of you are aware, Cornerstone has made an effort over these past few years to grow in our ministry to those affected by disability. This really birthed out of our connection with serving at The Family Retreat sponsored by Joni and Friends. Our partnership now continues to move forward with another ministry partner, Quiet Waters. Quiet Waters has been a wonderful resource and partner for us. We are planning to return to serve at the Family Retreat on June 8-12, 2026.

Additionally, our Luke 5 ministry continues to grow. For those of you not aware, several years ago Cornerstone sponsored a chapter here in Huntsville of Luke 5 Adventures, a ministry that enables us to take folks with disabilities out in nature with a specialized chair called a Rosie.

Furthermore, we have also finally completed construction and renovation on our church property and have created new accessible spaces for all people, but especially those touched by disability. These improvements include larger bathrooms that are handicap accessible, a new entry on the north side of the building that is flat and easily accessible with improved parking, and over ten new spaces that make it more friendly for those who need more time and convenience to enter the building.

With a desire to grow more in our ability to serve families and individuals affected by disability, the Session has approved the hiring of a new part-time Disability Coordinator. This person will be responsible for helping us to coordinate efforts to reach individuals and families affected by disability. In the state of Alabama, one in three adults is affected by some form of disability, so this continues to be a growing need in our state, but also in our Cornerstone community.

Please join the Session in prayer that God would raise up the right person to lead this ministry, and that the Lord will help us continue to reach and minister to families and individuals affected by disability.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
