Dear Church Family and Friends,
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!" (Revelation 14:13 ESV)
On Saturday, July 11, our dear brother Bob Cassis entered into the blessed presence of the LORD. Although Bob was not with us for many years, he had a tremendous impact on our church family. His love for his family, his joy in the Lord, and his love of the Gospel will be missed among us. There will be a time of visitation at Laughlin Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, from 5-7 pm. Cornerstone will host a memorial service on Saturday, August 1, at 11 am. Please join me in praying for their family, but also praising God that Bob is in the presence of Jesus.
I wanted to update you on Phase 2 activities. As a reminder, Phase 2 is the name of our project to continue to update and renovate our existing building. During this phase, we hope to replace all the church windows, remodel the second floor to maximize our Christian education space, and finish the first floor remodel on the east end of the building.
As of today, the architects have mostly finished the necessary drawings and schematics to provide direction to the contractors. Currently, we are waiting on the city to approve the drawings and give necessary feedback. Additionally, the Session is waiting to make any final decisions once we get pricing back from the builders. Once we have a better idea of pricing and a timeline, we hope to have a congregational meeting to update everyone on our ministry plans.
In the meantime, keep praying. This is exciting and necessary, but with our other projects, we know it will be important to be flexible, patient, and prayerful. The good news for this phase is that worship will not be impacted, and we continue to have our two Lord's Day services.
See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson
