Hey Cornerstone Family!
I wanted to share a brief update on some things happening within the student ministry
here at Cornerstone. As some of you are aware, Morgan High is stepping down as our Student
Ministry Coordinator at the end of October. She and Nathan are preparing to welcome their
second child into the nest here soon! Morgan has faithfully served our church and loved the
students here over the past few years! She has decided to make a career move as a full time
stay at home Mom. We are excited for her and Nathan and very thankful for her years of fruitful
ministry here at Cornerstone. God has been so good!
Earlier this Summer we began to pray and search for a new Student Ministry Coordinator. I am thrilled to
announce that God has led someone to us! Peyton McGuire will be coming on staff full time this
January! She is graduating in December from Clemson University with a degree in Spanish.
Peyton has a passion for students and has spent the past few summers at different churches as
a student ministry intern. As we listened to her story, love for Christ, and heart for students, it
became evident that Peyton would be a great fit for our team here. We recently had her come to
Cornerstone for a visit and interview. Afterwards, Peyton accepted the position and is excited to
come on staff here!
We are thankful for God’s abundant provision and kindness to us. He gives his people so
many good things, and above all, he has given us His Son Jesus. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.

Cornerstone Prayer Requests
Pray for church members caring for family - Susan Dupré, Kyle Mosier, Paul Poppe, Sarah Robins Powell, Kim Sweatt, Paul and Christina Wendorf.
Pray for healing - Suzi Bolton, Dawn Chenault, Tim and Gayle Ricks, Libby Stanfield, Steve Sedlack, and Annette Sweatt.
Pray for our homebound friends - Betty Baldwin and Suzi Bolton.
Pray for our expectant mothers - Morgan High (December), Hayley Honeywell (February), Abby Junen (March), and the Poppe family (adoption).
Pray for our Missional Partnerships - Vantage Leadership Initiative- Bob Boerner and Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Athens, AL (Rev. Ross Hodges).
Pray for our student ministry - that they would serve the LORD with gladness, give thanks to him, and bless his name (Psalm 100).

Announcements
Jr High SNF - Tonight from 6-8 pm at the Hinson’s home. Dinner is provided.
Foundations - Continues Wednesday, September 30, with a fellowship meal at 5:30 pm in the Family Life Center and discipleship opportunities for all ages from 6:15-7:15 pm. RSVP online by tomorrow, Monday, September 28. Nursery is provided.
Children (K-5th) - Catechism. Led by Mary Cooper and volunteers.
Youth (6th-12th Grade) - Ten Commandments. Led by Pastor Chris and volunteers.
Adults - God’s Big Picture, Tracing the Storyline of the Bible. Led by Pastor John and Pastor Brian.
Women - Joshua by Jen Wilkin.
Women’s Prayer Meeting - Join us Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10 am at Micki Smith’s home.
Play Date - Scott’s Orchard for pick your own apples on Thursday, October 8, 10 am-12 pm. Admission is $7 for ages 5+. You can buy a half peck bag for $8 or full peck for $14. Contact Rachel Morrow with any questions.
