Newsletter August 29, 2025

Dear Church Family and Friends,

I am happy to announce that we have hired a Property Manager to help us steward our church property and grounds. Please join me in welcoming Keith Klemmer to the team! Many of you know Keith as one of our church members who serves in children's ministry and on the music team. Keith is coming to us from The Space and Rocket Center, where he has been serving in their building maintenance division. Keith also has over 25 years of experience as an electrician. We are blessed to have him on our team with his vast experience. Please join in praising God for this provision, and please also pray for Keith, Shana, and their family as he begins this new calling.

Like many of you, I am mourning over the senseless, evil violence that continues to mar our world and especially our schools and churches. The horrific act that took place in Minneapolis this past week leaves us longing for a better world where there will be no more sin and sorrow. But until that day, we are called as the Church to put on the armor of God and to be wary of the evil one. The way we do that is by praying and preparing.

To that end, our deacons who oversee our safety team and our safety procedures have asked me to alert you to an upgrade in our safety plan. You will now see two uniformed sheriff's deputies on Sunday mornings at Cornerstone. One deputy will be stationed outside, overseeing the grounds, and another deputy will be present inside to ensure the safety of our members. Please welcome them and thank them.

To be clear, there is no known threat to our church or its members. We are simply placing another layer of protection and defense to ensure that we can worship safely and peaceably. We trust in the Lord and in the strength of His might, but we also know we are called to vigilance to protect the flock. I'm thankful for police officers and sheriff’s deputies who are taking up this calling.

I am looking forward to the Lord's Day this Sunday as we celebrate communion and a baptism!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
