Dear Cornerstone Family:

Happy New Year! What a blessing it is to begin another year at Cornerstone as a community of Christ's followers who worship, grow, and serve together!
One of our key discipleship opportunities is Foundations, which starts up on Wednesday, January 21, and will run for 8 consecutive weeks through March 11. We begin with a fellowship meal at 5:30 PM, followed by discipleship classes for all ages from 6:15 to 7:15 PM. 

Here is what is being offered during the discipleship hour:
Nursery- Led by Christina Wendorf and the nursery team. Location: Nursery area on the first floor of the main building.
Children's MInistry - Catechism, led by Mary Cooper and the Children's Ministry team.  Location: Children's assembly room on the second floor of the main building.
Students- Youth Group, led by Pastor Chris Moody and the Student Ministry team. Location: Senior High room on the second floor of the main building.
For adults:
Hymnology- A study of the theology, stories, and singing of hymns, led by Pastors John Summers and Brian Russ. Location: Sanctuary.
Evangelism: Sharing and Defending Your Faith- Led by Pastor Wilson Shirley.  Location:  Fellowship Hall on the first floor of the main building.
Titus: This is an evening meeting opportunity for our current Women's Ministry study.  Location: Reformers classroom on the second floor of the main building.


We would love for you to join us for this time of learning and fellowship!
You can RSVP HERE for the January 21 Foundations. The meal is $ 5 for individuals, and there is a $25 family max. Additional details will be coming next week.

Pray for church members caring for family - Susan Dupré, Deborah Fitzsimmons, Tim Kauffman, Kyle Mosier, Paul Poppe, Kim Sweatt, Paul and Christina Wendorf.

Pray for healing - Tom Armstrong, Hart Barham, Bill and Suzi Bolton, Karen Canevaro, Dawn Chenault, Val Myers, Tim and Gayle Ricks, Libby Stanfield, Annette Sweatt, and others.

Pray for our homebound friends - Betty Baldwin, Bill and Suzi Bolton.

Pray for Anne Thompson, Caroline Thompson and Anna Parks in the loss of their mother-in-law and grandmother, Ruth Dean Thompson, on January 1. 

Pray for our expectant mothers - Tessa Wilkes (February) and Maiben Addison (June). 

Pray for our Missional Partnerships - 60 Feet of Uganda - Ava Weeks and Southwood Presbyterian Church, Huntsville, AL (Rev. Will Spink).

Pray for our church officers meeting this week. Pray that God would give them wisdom and leadership.


Announcements

Live Streaming -  Our live stream for both services is available in the Gathering Room, Nursing Mothers’ Room (located in the Nursery), and Fellowship Hall.

Creative Arts - The Creative Arts ministry will resume meeting on Monday, January 12. This group meets on Mondays from 9 am to noon in the classroom at the top of the stairs.

Senior High SNF - Next Sunday, January 18, 6:30-8 pm at the Poe’s home.

Foundations- Begins Wednesday, January 21. Join us for a fellowship meal at 5:30 pm, followed by discipleship classes for all ages from 6:15-7:15 PM. Nursery is provided. RSVP HERE!

Women’s Ministry Baby Shower - Join us to honor Tessa Wilkes and Maiben Addison, on Sunday, January 25, from 2-4 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Both are registered at Babylist.com. Contact Heidi Honeywell or Shelby Hundscheid with any questions.

New Members Class - Begins Sunday, February 1, and meets during the Sunday School hour in the FLC. If you’re interested in becoming a member or learning more about Cornerstone, please email the church office to sign up.

Men’s Retreat - February 20-22 in Mentone, AL. Registration opens this Thursday, January 15!  

Mission Trip Registration - Contact Morgan High or Jackie Edmondson to register for Quiet Waters Family Retreat (June 7-12) to serve families affected by disabilities. Contact the church office to register for Warm Springs (May 30-June 6) to serve with Sacred Road.
