Newsletter April 10, 2026
Dear Church Family,
I wanted to give a quick update about something exciting happening this weekend with our Student Ministry. As many of you know, our Presbytery’s annual Roots Youth Retreat was postponed due to inclement weather back in January. It was rescheduled for this weekend! The time has come, and we will be packing about 60 folks up the mountain to Pisgah, Alabama, for the retreat at Camp ToKnowHim. It is always a sweet time of word, worship, and fellowship for our students.
Rev. Davis Sweatt, RUF Campus Minister at Alabama, will be our speaker for the weekend. The theme is Abide with Me. There are four worship and teaching sessions, usually followed by small group discussion times. It is a rich opportunity for us to talk with students about Jesus and his word. Saturday afternoon, there is ample free time for students to play sports and recreate together around the campgrounds. There are some epic Gagaball showdowns that happen in the ring!
Please be in prayer for us as we travel to and from the camp that God would grant us safety. Pray for Davis as he preaches the word, that God would speak through him, and hearts would be moved by the Spirit. Pray also for our chaperones that God would open avenues for good conversations with students. Pray for our students that they would grow to know and love Jesus deeper, enrich friendships, and have a blast together!
Thank you all for your prayers and support!
Pastor Chris

Many Cornerstone members participated in the recent Vantage Leadership luncheon, featuring Dr. Patrick Morley. We’re incredibly grateful for how the Lord is using Vantage Leadership in Huntsville and the surrounding area! Bob Boerner, Executive Director, shared this exciting feedback after the event:
Because of your presence and participation, we saw:
• 50 leaders interested in joining a forum
• 11 leaders interested in leading a forum
• 7 people begin a relationship with Christ
• 13 people rededicate their lives to Christ
These are not just numbers-these are lives being shaped, strengthened, and redirected.
Some of the feedback shared captured it well:
“Wonderful reminder of God's unconditional love and grace, challenged me to surrender all to Christ.”
“I was encouraged to see so many Christian leaders together, making a difference in Madison County, AL.”
“God helped me see I'm not alone on my leadership journey in Christ.”
God is clearly at work.
At Vantage, we believe many leaders are navigating the weight of responsibility-leading teams, caring for families, and making decisions that shape others-often without a clear place to grow in their faith alongside their leadership.
That’s why Vantage exists.
To come alongside leaders, to help them connect their faith with how they lead, and to develop what we call Marketplace Missionaries - men and women who live out their calling right where God has placed them.
And last week, we saw that happening.
