Newsletter July 4, 2025

Dear Church Family and Friends,

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2 ESV)

These are the opening verses of our sermon text this Sunday. They are wonderful! They are hopeful! I invite you to meditate on them with me in preparation for Sunday worship.

One of the ministries we support at Cornerstone is RYM (Reformed Youth Fellowship). "RYM exists to serve the Church in its efforts to reach and equip youth for Christ. Through its three avenues of ministry, everything RYM does is oriented to help churches as they seek to raise up the next generation of the Church with the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Cornerstone is thankful to support RYM in multiple ways.

One of the ways we support RYM is through monthly financial support. RYM has a robust resource ministry that is a great blessing to students, parents, and the local church. Cornerstone happily supports this effort, and we benefit tremendously through these resources.

One resource that I want to highlight is The RYM Podcast. RYM has done a fantastic job of modernizing this resource into a well-produced program. I specifically want to encourage everyone, not just students or parents of teens, but all followers of Christ, to consider listening to the new series they released this year called Digital Christianity. It is an excellent resource that features interviews from some of the church's leading thinkers on technology and the Christian life. I have recently read the new book Scrolling Ourselves to Death, and this podcast features many of the authors and much of the content from this resource.

Let me highly encourage you to listen to this series. All of us, including myself, are consuming a lot of media these days with social media, internet news, streaming television shows, and television news programs playing in the background. Let's consider moderating some of that content by listening to something that will help us grow and think about our digital lives.

Another way Cornerstone supports RYM is by our high school students attending RYM Summer Conference. This summer, nearly 40 people from Cornerstone will travel to Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Panama City for the Senior High RYM Summer Conference. Please be in prayer for Pastor Chris, the chaperones, and the students who will attend this impactful week, as they grow in Christ through the study of God's Word and the enjoyment of God's creation.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
