Dear Church Family and Friends,
My friend Ligon Duncan said this about the Psalms, "The Psalms are an anatomy of all the parts of the Christian soul. The Psalms give us guidance in Christian experience. How should a Christian react in all the varied circumstances of life?"
It has been very rich studying the Psalms with you this summer. I hope they have been as nourishing to you as they have been for me. Psalm 92, this last week, was especially helpful as we were reminded that we grow in the Christian life by meditating on the wonderful works of God.
Several folks asked me for this quote that was helpful to them. It is from William Plummer's most excellent commentary on the Psalms. The quote has to do with how foolish it is to reject God and to reject knowledge of Him. “Is not he a fool, who prefers time to eternity ... earth to heaven ... the world to its Maker ... sin to holiness ... death to life?”
This Sunday, we will consider Psalm 93 and the Doctrine of God. This Psalm is especially going to teach us to worship the Lord God and consider His attributes. Another reason that we need these Psalms ... they keep us focused on the main thing ... that the LORD reigns!
One more Plummer quote about the Psalms, "Piety has derived more nourishment than from any other source."
See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson

Missions Moment
Each week, we want to highlight one of our missional partnerships. Please take a moment to learn about these wonderful ministries that Cornerstone has the privilege of serving alongside.
This week's highlighted ministry:
A Note from Third Millennium
Thank you for your congregation's continued partnership with Thirdmill to equip leaders for the global church! Your gifts to Thirdmill help ministry leaders around the world continue to be equipped with the knowledge of God’s Word--currently in 178 countries and 27 languages. We are grateful to God for you!
Recently, our Thirdmill Field Representative in Russia told the Thirdmill staff that he had brought biblical training to the Khanty People of Western Siberia. Reindeer herding is one of the primary industries of these semi-nomadic people. But even in this far-away place east of the Ural Mountains, God is raising up His church! For the past several decades, there have been known evangelical believers, and still, they have no printed Bible, with only some audio scripture. But now, because of ministry partners like you, God's Word is equipping Khanty ministry leaders! They are now learning God's Word, ministry skills, and growing in pastoral leadership!
Thank you for your continued generosity. We are grateful to God for you! Your partnership is impacting the global church.
Blessings,
Steven W. Prieb, MDiv., CFRE
