Dear Church Family and Friends,
Have you ever been asked, "Tell me about your church?" ... If you had a 90-second elevator ride with someone, how would you describe Cornerstone? ... I would like to give you a sample speech.
Our Mission: Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, Alabama, is a vibrant congregation rooted in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), dedicated to glorifying God through a Christ-centered community. Our mission is to be a community of Christ’s followers who worship, grow, and serve together to glorify God in Huntsville and throughout the world. This mission shapes every aspect of our ministry, from worship services to community outreach, as they seek to live out their faith in meaningful ways.
Christ-Centered: At the heart of Cornerstone’s identity is our commitment to being a community of Christ’s followers. We emphasize the "ordinary means of grace"—the preaching of the Word, the sacraments, and prayer—as foundational to our worship and spiritual growth. Cornersone gathers regularly for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, fostering a deep sense of community among members. These gatherings, held throughout the week, provide opportunities for believers to deepen their faith, encourage one another, and grow in our understanding of God’s Word.
Our Values: Cornerstone’s mission is built on four pillars: worship, discipleship, care, and mission. In worship, we exalt God through biblically grounded services held every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., as well as through their ongoing sermon series, such as the current exploration of the Psalms. Growth and care happens through intentional discipleship, with ministries like Sunday School classes for all ages, where members study books of the Bible, such as Proverbs, under the guidance of experienced leaders and Bible teachers. Missions and outreach extends our mission beyond the church walls, as we partner with local and global ministries, including church plants and mercy ministries.
Our Vision: Cornerstone’s vision is to glorify God not only in Huntsville but throughout the world. We believe the church exists to build God’s kingdom and serve both one another and the surrounding communities. This vision is reflected in our commitment to the PCA’s values of being “faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.”
See you next Lord's Day!
by His grace and to His praise,
