Newsletter August 14, 2026

Dear Church Family and Friends,

Now that we are in mid-August, it seems that summer is officially over, and I know many of you are transitioning to a new season with school starting and other activities. Here at Cornerstone, we have some transitions as well as we begin a new ministry season.

Last week we wrapped up our summer sermon series in the Psalms with Psalm 108. This Sunday we will resume our study of the Gospel of Matthew, picking back up in chapter 12. I love these next few sections of Matthew as Jesus will teach His disciples more about His kingdom and how to live in it. As we make our way toward chapter 13 in Matthew's Gospel, we will consider The Parables of the Kingdom, as Jesus will make use of these powerful, earthy stories with a heavenly meaning. I invite you to read ahead and begin meditating on these teachings each week.

It has been a while since the leadership has reported on Phase 2 activities. To remind you, Phase 2 is what we are calling our continued efforts to remodel and improve the main building. With Phase 2 activities, we hope to maximize our space by expanding Sunday School classrooms, adding some office space, and remodeling older spaces that were not touched in our Phase 1 construction a few years ago. The leadership is still working hard to advance this project. Once we have some final details and before construction begins, we will have a congregational update on the project and ministry plans. Please continue to pray for this process, as there are many details and many parties involved.

See you Sunday!

by His grace and to His praise,

Pastor Wilson
