Newsletter August 21, 2026
Dear Cornerstone Family:
We are looking forward to resuming FOUNDATIONS, our Wednesday night discipleship ministry, on September 9! As we enter our 11th year of FOUNDATIONS, it has been a part of ministry life here as we gather for a mid-week meal and discipleship for all ages. Nursery is provided. The meal begins at 5:30 PM in the Family Life Center as we enjoy fellowship together as a church family, and discipleship classes are from 6:15-7:15 PM. There will be 9 weeks of FOUNDATIONS this fall, and we would love for you to come join us! Here are the studies we are offering this fall:
For adults, Pastor John Summers and I will lead us on a journey through the whole Bible using a book called God's Big Picture: Tracing the Storyline of the Bible by Vaughn Roberts. It is a study that helps us understand how the whole Bible fits together and proclaims the good news of the Kingdom of God and the salvation that is ours in Christ Jesus.
There is also a ladies’ Bible study option on Wednesday night. The ladies are doing a study of Joshua with Jen Wilkin this fall on Tuesdays. The Wednesday night option is a homework discussion group, which means you watch the video teaching and do the homework at home, and the FOUNDATIONS time will be a group discussion. This option begins Wednesday, September 2, one week before FOUNDATIONS starts. Contact Heidi Honeywell, our Women's Ministry Coordinator, for more information.
Our middle and high school students will be studying the Ten Commandments as they continue to gather on Wednesday nights during FOUNDATIONS, led by Pastor Chris and the youth ministry team. Children's ministry will study the catechism together. We are thankful for all the staff and volunteers who help lead our students and children at FOUNDATIONS!
Next week, be on the lookout for an email with RSVP instructions as we begin preparations for our FOUNDATIONS kickoff.
See you Sunday!
Pastor Brian
