Newsletter February 6, 2026
Dear Church Family and Friends,
This past week, Cornerstone had the privilege of hosting the 68th Stated Meeting of Providence Presbytery. What a refreshing and encouraging time it was! Pastors and elders from churches across our region came together for worship, fellowship, and the important business of the broader church that helps guide our shared ministry. Pastor Summers gave a wonderful sermon that exhorted us to shepherd the sheep by looking to our Chief Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ. Presbytery meetings are a wonderful reminder that Cornerstone is part of a family of congregations, bound together by His Spirit and our common calling to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples.
That same spirit of fellowship and encouragement is exactly what makes our upcoming Men's Retreat such a meaningful event. It's an opportunity for the men of our church (and beyond) to step away from the routine, gather in God's creation, worship together, hear solid biblical teaching, enjoy good food and conversation, and build deeper relationships. These weekends often become turning points—times when God speaks clearly, hearts are encouraged, and friendships are strengthened in the local church.
If you haven't already registered, please don't wait! The deadline for registration is next Sunday, February 15. Spots can fill up quickly, and we want to make sure everyone who wants to join us has the chance. You can find the registration details here. If cost is a concern or you have questions, please reach out to a church officer — we'd love to help make this possible for you.
In a world that often pulls us toward isolation and distraction, God calls us to gather, to encourage one another, and to spur each other on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25). Wives, consider encouraging your husbands to attend the upcoming men's retreat.
See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
Pastor Wilson

Upcoming Birmingham Theological Seminary Live Class
I wanted to let you know about an upcoming live seminary class being offered in Huntsville. As you may know, BTS is working hard to bring live seminary classes to your area, and we are excited to announce that BTS President Ike Reeder will be teaching Christ and Culture in a hybrid Saturday format at Summit Crossing Community Church.
I have attached a PDF flyer and a social media ad with all the details if you would like to share it with your church or add it to your bulletin board or social feed. The class can be taken for credit, or anyone can sit in on the class to get a “taste of BTS.”
Please let me know if you have any questions, and we look forward to offering future classes in Huntsville through a variety of local churches.
In Christ,
Dave Latham
