Newsletter May 9, 2025
Dear Church Family and Friends,
This month, Cornerstone marks 12 years as a particularized church! It is hard to believe all the things that the Lord has done in these twelve years. Perhaps the most encouraging thing is that the Lord has blessed us to be a mature and healthy church. I believe we are experiencing these blessings because of our mission and vision to be true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and faithful to the Scriptures. When a church is focused on these things, we should expect to see growth.
But not just numerical growth. Although our membership is growing, we also desire to grow in wisdom and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And one of the key ways we do that is through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. That is why we seek to be Word-centered in everything we do from Sunday worship to Sunday School to small groups.
One of the key discipleship programs that we have had since then is VBS. Vacation Bible School was started at Cornerstone in 2015. During that summer we moved into the Martha Pullen building on Old Big Cove Road and we were immediately blessed with a space to be able to be able to support a ministry like this. This summer, we celebrate 10 years of VBS at Cornerstone!
Please join me in praying for VBS. Pray that God will reach children and families who are unchurched. Pray that God would make disciples through this important ministry and that children will come to faith in Christ. Pray for our volunteers and teachers as they lead this important program.
VBS is on June 2-5! Click here to register and consider inviting a family to experience the church in a meaningful way this summer. Also, I believe some volunteers are still needed. Contact Mary Cooper to help out.
See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
