Newsletter May 16, 2025
Dear Church Family and Friends,
Someone responded to me in an email this past week in very thoughtful way. I have to admit, most of the time I respond to email with "Got it!" or "10/4". But this person simply responded with, "Grace, peace, and joy!" ... Now that is an "affirmative!"
What I appreciated the most about that response was the genuine kindness and thoughtfulness of their response but also the response it elicited in me. For these three things, grace, peace, and joy, are evidences of the Christian life. They are fruits that we enjoy because of a relationship with Christ. Most importantly, they are experiences we have each and every Sunday in corporate worship.
And so if you find yourself longing for grace ... peace ... and joy ... look to Christ and join your brothers and sisters in Christ in corporate worship this Lord's Day.
I wanted to highlight an important outreach ministry we chartered a few years ago that many of you may have forgotten, and some of you may be unfamiliar with. It's called Luke5 Adventures. Several years ago, many of us got familiar with Luke5 through serving at the Joni and Friends Family Retreat. The good people at Luke5 Cincinnati showed up and introduced us to this wonderful contraption called a Rosie. A Rosie is a specialized wheelchair/mountain bike that allows us to take those with disabilities out in the wilderness. It is a wonderful ministry to be able to serve those who have been affected by disability.
If you would like to go on a hike and learn more about Luke5, please join us this Monday, 5:30 pm, at Monte Sano. Luke5 headquarters has asked us to participate in their "Queen Mary Tour." Mary is a favorite hiker of Luke5, and she and her family are traveling the country to visit different Luke5 chapters on an epic adventure to experience as much of the culture, sights, and sounds of each location.
If you want to learn more or have any questions, please contact Paul DuPré. Please consider joining the Luke5 training on Tuesday, May 20, at 5:30 pm in the FLC.
Finally, this Sunday, we will pray for and honor our high school and college graduates. This is an especially meaningful time for my family as we have our first high school graduate. Please be in prayer for our graduates and join us this Sunday as we worship our Lord and pray for these young men and women.
Grace and peace and joy! See you Sunday!
by His grace and to His praise,
