Dear Church Family and Friends,
It is hard to believe that, as I write this that summer is almost over and it is already August! With a new school year comes a natural transition in church ministries and activities. I want to highlight a few of those, and you can see more information below.
Promotion Sunday will be Sunday, August 10th. On this day, the children and youth will get to move to their new classrooms. Please see Chris, Morgan, or Mary for details. Adults will get promoted to some new Sunday School material as we will begin studying Galatians very soon.
The New Members Class will begin Sunday, August 17th, during the Sunday School hour. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Cornerstone and/or pursue church membership.
Fall Women's Bible Study will begin Tuesday, August 26th, and they will be studying Revelation.
FOUNDATIONS will begin on Wednesday, September 10th. We will gather in the evening for a meal and fellowship, followed by discipleship opportunities for all ages. Stay tuned for some great opportunities for adults.
Finally, I'm sure that many of you have noticed, the Lord is blessing our fellowship with many new young adults. In efforts for us to continue to provide discipleship and care for our church family, the Session has begun preparations for beginning a new Sunday School Class. This class has yet to be named, but it will focus on young adults, especially those who are newly married and engaged. Please be in prayer for this class! We are excited that the Lord has allowed us to have a critical mass to pursue such an endeavor. We also ask that you let folks who fit this demographic know about this opportunity for them to grow in this important stage of their lives. The start date is still to be determined.

Pray for our Missional Partnerships - Faith Community PCA (Rev. Adam Venable) and Christ Presbyterian Church, Hampton Cove, AL (Rev. Michael Calvert).
Pray for our church officers - pray for wisdom for our elders as they shepherd and our deacons as they lead. Pray that the Lord would protect their families.
Pray for Pastor Russ and family on sabbatical.
Pray for our students, families, and teachers as they begin a new school year.
Announcements
Creative Arts Ministry - Beginning Monday, August 4, we will be meeting weekly on Mondays from 10 am to noon. Join us in the classroom at the top of the stairs! For more information, contact Suzann Dolan.
Blossomwood Bags - We’ll be packing bags this Wednesday, August 6, at 10 am in the Gathering Room. Sign up here to bring school supplies, write notes, or help pack bags.
Women’s Prayer Meeting - We will gather for a time of prayer this Thursday, August 7, at 10:00 am at Micki Smith’s home.
Promotion Sunday - Children and students move up to their new classes next Sunday, August 10. Please contact Mary Cooper or Morgan High if you have any questions.
New Members Class - Begins August 17 and meets during the Sunday School hour for six weeks. If you’re interested in becoming a member or learning more about Cornerstone, please email office@cornerstonehuntsville.org to sign up.
Women’s Bible Studies - Our fall semester study will begin on Tuesday, August 26. We’ll be studying the book of Revelation by Jen Wilkin, if you’d like to go ahead and order your copy! Sign up and register for childcare here.
